Teach the app a task

A skill is a task you teach the app once, so you do not have to explain it again each time.

A skill is a folder with a file called SKILL.md inside it. That file describes how to do the task.

Add a skill in one of four ways

Way to add one	Use it when
Create it in a chat	You want help writing it. Open a chat with skill-creator and describe the task.
Write it yourself	You prefer to write SKILL.md in an editor.
Import one you have	You already have a folder with a SKILL.md in it.
Take one from a colleague	Someone in your organisation has shared a skill with you.

Choose where a skill applies

Save a skill in the global skills folder, and every workspace on your computer can use it.

Save it anywhere else, and only the workspace you created it in can use it.

Share a skill with your team

You can share a skill you wrote. Choose whether to share it with your whole organisation, or with named colleagues.
